Federal Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that Kashmir is a key issue of Pakistan and it should be resolved according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people in the line with the United Nations' resolution. The minister expressed these views while responding a calling attention notice moved by PTI members Dr Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari, Munaza Hassan and Colonel Amirullah Marwat (Retd) on Indian aggression in Indian Occupied Kashmir, which resulted in killing of innocent Kashmiris.
The minister said the government will continue its moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiris for their just right to self-determination. He said the international human rights organisations have also expressed concerns and highlighted Indian brutalities on international fora.
He said that the PML-N government is making efforts on diplomatic level and raised the issue of Kashmir at international forums. The Prime Minister also raised this issue at the general assembly of UN on September 2014. Shireen Mazari also raised questions about performance of Parliamentary Special Committee on Kashmir and funding foreign visits of its members. The Minister said that formation of committee is tradition of the parliament and it is voice of the Kashmir people.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman who is Chairman of the Committee said that he already informed the Prime Minister about weakness of the Committee. Earlier, during question hour, the National Assembly was informed that 687 references were filed by National Accountability Bureau in the Accountability courts during the last five years and 309 persons were convicted.
Minister for Law, Pervaiz Rashid informed the House that 2,295 inquiries and 801 investigations were held during this period. To a question, the Minister said that 293 million rupees have been allocated for the Ministry of Law during the current fiscal year. Of this amount, 114 million rupees have been allocated for the welfare of the women and children. Replying to a question, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said the government is taking measures to improve the postal services.
