The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday summoned banned Pakistani leg spinner Danish Prabha Shankar Kaneria for 18th August 2015 as England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) approached the court to help them for recovering Rs 39 million from him. In this regard, the ECB lawyer Khawaja Naveed on 29 July had filed a petition in SHC seeking the court's help for recovering almost Rs 39 million from Kaneria as he was banned and fined by ECB in 2012.
The ECB disciplinary committee banned Kaneria for life in 2012 to take part in cricket all over the world after founding him guilty of spot fixing. A committee found him guilty of corruption in a match in which he was representing English county, Essex, in 2009. Kaneria was asked to pay the fine amount Rs 10 million as well as additional cost incurred over the case which totally becomes Rs 249,000. Banned leg spinner lost his last appeal against life ban imposed by ECB from United Kingdom's commercial court in 2014.
