Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Nasir Hussain Shah on Tuesday asked all heads of provincial district administrations and Town Municipal Officers (TMOs) to submit reports within a week regarding development and non-development expenditures during the fiscal year 2014-15.
According to a KMC spokesman, the minister directed the district administrators of Karachi, Malir Development Authority (MDA), Lyari Development Authority (LDA), Sehwan Development Authority (SDA), Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), Larkana Development Authority and the district town municipal officers to submit comprehensive reports within the next seven days. The minister also visited Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and enquired after the heath of patients. He asked the administration to ensure proper medical facilities to them.
The minister was informed about the issues being faced by the hospital, particularly shortage of medicines. "I received some complaints about the performance of KMC-run hospitals, this is the reason I am here to personally observe the situation," the minister said while talking to media persons outside ASH. He also asked the administration to introduce biometric system in all KMC-run hospitals, including ASH, to monitor the attendance of staff. He assured the hospital management of resolve its issues on priority basis.
