Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) and Oman Munition Production Company (OMPC) Sultanate of Oman inked a contract agreement to impart technical training to 20 Omani technical operators. Arif Saeed Qazi A/Director Exports POF and Brig Said Abdullah Ali Alharthy Chairman of Executive Committee Oman Munition Production signed the contract agreement on behalf of POF & Sultanate of Oman respectively. The contract signing ceremony was attended by Lt-Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M) Chairman POF Board, senior POF Officers and Brig Said Abdullah Ali Alharthy Chairman of Executive Committee Oman Munition Production and other members of Omani delegation. Omani operators will be trained at POF Institute of Technology vis-à-vis Small Arms Ammunition Fy in various technical fields pertaining to production of arms and ammunition for a period of 20 weeks including 16 weeks specialised on job training.
Lt-Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M) Chairman POF Board said on this occasion that POFIT had already trained technicians and officers from many friendly countries in the past and it is a matter of pride and honour for us to train manpower of Sultanate of Oman. Chairman POF Board elaborated that long term strategic relations with Oman would certainly be enhanced in future as Oman and Pakistan were enjoying excellent bilateral relations since long. POF has been exporting its quality arms and ammunitions to various countries around the globe. Supply of military hardware to Oman as per their requirements has also been deliberated. This is a first drop of rain and we expect a lot in near future, said Chairman POF Board.
It may be mentioned that in the 2nd phase 20 Omani staff members will be trained and in the 3rd phase 20 Officers will get training in various technical fields at POF Institute of Technology.
Brig Said Abdullah Ali Alharthy Chairman of Executive Committee Oman Munition Production head of Omani delegation thanked the management of POF for extending support in shape of training to their technicians. He said that it would be a great opportunity to strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Oman in near future.-PR
