President Pakistan Peoples' Party Punjab Manzoor Wattoo has lauded the withdrawal of the motions by political parties seeking to de-seat the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNAs from the National Assembly, saying that it will augur very well for the Parliament and democracy in the country. "The politics of reconciliation has prevailed on the politics of inflexibility," he said.
He reminded that his party was never in favour of de-seating right from the beginning and had played a vital role in persuading others to save democrac. "The party firmly believes that Pakistan can survive and thrive only under democracy and the havoc caused by the successive dictators in the past is testimony to the narrative," he added. He said his party had accepted the results of the 2013 elections to ensure the continuity of the political system.
