Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) on Saturday launched its next generation Charji EVO wireless broadband services to Peshawar. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Said Advocate formally opened the fastest EVO wireless service during a ceremony held at local hotel here. Besides, Adnan Shahid, Chief Commercial Officer PTCL; Shahid Mahmood, Executive Vice president, Business Zone north PTCL; Badarul Zaman, Regional General Manager, PTCL Peshawar, and a large number clients, members of business community, senior government officials, representatives of IT and education sector and others also attended the ceremony.
Following introduction of the Charji EVO wireless in six cities, the residents of Peshawar will experience Pakistan's fastest and most reliable 4G LTE wireless broadband service at speed up to 36Mbps, said an official of PTCL while giving presentation on the occasion.
He said the company ushered a new era of technological innovation in the country by launching the next generation Charji EVO wireless in 2014, which was an addition to the 3G EVO range of services already serving residents of Peshawar and customers across the country.
Muzaffar Said while speaking at the ceremony as chief guest stated that the launch of Charji EVO wireless services to Peshawar was commendable step of PTCL, which could not only beneficial for business community, but also useful for students for the research purposes.
The Minister expressed anguish over misuse of modern technology, which was harmful for the entire society. He, however, stressed the technology must be applied for useful means. "We need to use modern technology for positive deeds to stand in rank of developed nations," he opined. He lauded the PTCL for expanding its next generation Charji EVO wireless broadband services to Peshawar.
Adnan Shahid, in his address said PTCL had always been at the forefront in introducing innovative technologies and services in the country and "our fixed and wireless broadband services are acting as a catalyst in transforming the socio-economic landscape of the country."
He furthermore said the company had always introduced technologies that had helped people improve their lives. Peshawar is historic city and a strong business hub and Charji wireless broadband services would open new possibilities of growth and development in the area, he added.
Badarul Zaman said the launch of PTCL Charji EVO would create more value for customers in Peshawar, adding the service would open new avenues for households, educational institutions, and businesses in the city. The PTCL officials said Charji EVO service was available in convenient dongles, MiFi clouds and tablet, providing a powerful internet experience, faster web browsing, HD video streaming, downloads, uploads, and low latency (ping) rates for online gaming.
The officials furthered stated the ease and comfort of Charji EVO cloud devices with its state of the art WiFi capability and fast internet browsing brings an unparallel experience, connecting up to 10 WiFi enabled devices simultaneously. They informed PTCL had launched Pakistan's first 4G LTE tablet Charji EVO TAB which provided built-in Charji connectivity and voice calling feature.
