-Chief of Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the world powers want to continue their hold on Karachi, the political and economic life line of the country- in line with their Great Game, and added that the politics of the port city was being controlled from London. While addressing a special gathering of the overseas Pakistanis at Mansoora on Saturday the JI chief said that the numerous challenges facing the Muslim world at present called for a complete unity of the Ummah. He said that the enemy was pitting the Muslim states against one another simply to sell its arms and ammunition.
Sirajul Haq said that Turkey and Pakistan could play an effective role in removing the misunderstandings between Saudi Arabia and Iran and bringing the two countries close to each other. He said that the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran must be avoided. The JI chief said that anti-Islam forces were behind the extremist organizations in the Muslim world and were utilizing them to advance their agenda. The western powers had always strived to divide the Muslims on racial and sectarian grounds to weaken their power and to grab their vast resources. The enemy had thrust a war on Syria, Yemen and Libya.
Sirajul Haq said that the Ummah's unity is more powerful than a nuclear bomb and added that the Muslim world should have a common economic market and common defence. He said that Pakistan is the only country after the state of Madina that has come into being on the basis of an ideology. However, he said, that from the very beginning, a coterie of people brought up by the British rulers since the Mughal era had been ruling the country. The elite are holding the state, politics and the masses as hostages and denying their rights. The common man is without basic facilities of life, education and health.
He said that the Pakistanis working abroad were remitting huge amounts in foreign exchange whereas the political pundits were transferring the national wealth abroad through plunder, commissions and kickbacks. He announced that the JI on coming to power would retrieve the plundered national wealth lying abroad. He was sure that the JI would emerge as a strong party in the 2018 elections.
Sirajul Haq disapproved the denial of the voting right to overseas Pakistanis and said this was sheer injustice. He said that the millions of Pakistanis abroad should be given an opportunity to play their role in national politics. He also urged the government to set up educational institutions in different countries for the wards of the Pakistanis there.
