The Foreign Office has asked India to stop levelling accusations and provide evidence if it has about any Pakistani involved in terrorist incidents in the neighbouring country. According to a Business Recorder report, Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah has declined to comment on the Indian media reports about arrest of a 'terrorist' allegedly belonging to Pakistan's Faisalabad and called upon Indian authorities to share necessary information about the arrested person.
"I have seen media reports that a person has been arrested in India and is being projected as a Pakistan national. However, I will not comment on media reports. We expect Indian authorities to share necessary information about him with us to enable verification of his national status," the FO spokesman has been quoted as saying.
How unfortunate it is that the Indian media has become an invertible arm of India's security establishment. It seems to have been sabotaging a broad understanding that the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan reached in Ufa, Russia, on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit recently. It has already harmed the atmosphere and goodwill between the two countries.
