Provincial Home Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has said terrorists also entered Balochistan from Waziristan after the Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched there.
In an interview with APP on Sunday, he said that when the armed forces launched operation against militants in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), then a number of anti-peace elements also entered Balochistan through Zhob and other areas. "We, however, took a swift action to apprehend these anti-peace elements and to stop their further entrance in Balochistan," he said.
He said that when the Army destroyed hideouts of terrorists in Waziristan, most of them established their new hideouts along Pakistan-Afghan border, both in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan as some of them had also entered Balochistan. "Following intelligence information, we carried out security operations against terrorists in Zhob, Sanjawi, Dalbandin and other areas to destroy their new network," he said.
The Home Minister said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb also helped in restoring peace and maintenance of law and order in Balochistan. "Local networks of militants in Balochistan had also their links with banned militant organisations working in FATA and Waziristan, but, when Operation Zarb-e-Azb destroyed the hideouts of militants in Waziristan, it also weakened militant organisations working in Balochistan," he said.
He said that some foreign forces were involved in financially supporting terrorist organisations in Balochistan to damage Pak-China Economic Corridor Project.
"Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, are appreciated for announcing 'Pur-Aman Balochistan' plan to foil the conspiracies of the enemies of the Pakistan who want to damage Gwadar-Kashgar Economic Corridor Project in Balochistan," he said.
He said the government had adopted zero-tolerance policy against terrorism to make Balochistan a completely peaceful province.
