Demi Lovato speaks up about drug overdose after her health stabilizes
Hollywood’s pop singer Demi Lovato was hospitalized due to a drug over dose last month. She was kept under observation for few days as she was reportedly close to death. After being treated, Demi has shared her feelings and thanked everyone for the love and support.
On Sunday, the singer broke her silence for the first time on her drug overdose on her Instagram. “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet,” she said.
Demi was also thankful to God for keeping her alive and praises her fans for the continuous love and support. “I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well to my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time”.
The singer is now adapting sobriety once again and is on a road to recovery. Bringing the heartfelt note to the conclusion Demi motivated herself as she added, “I will keep fighting”.
Before her drug overdose, the signer had released a single ‘Sober’ in June, in which she sang, “Mommy, I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore. And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor”.
Demi has previously spoken about her struggle with substance abuse, bipolar and eating disorders. She has been on drugs for many years now. She revealed she first tried cocaine aged 17, in a YouTube documentary titled ‘Simply Complicated’ which was released last October.
