The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the Punjab government to set up a fire brigade at the Ferozepur Road Industrial Area to avert any untoward incident in the industrial units operational in the area. The demand came up on Wednesday by LCCI senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir while talking to a delegation of the Ferozepur Road Industrial Association led by its Chairman Mubasher Butt and Patron-in-Chief Adnan Butt here at chamber's.
Vice President Kabir pointed to five fire incidents in the Ferozepur Road Industrial area, saying the incidents caused a huge loss which could have been averted. He also expected the Punjab government to declare the Ferozepur Road Industrial Area as an "industrial estate." The delegation then told him that the Ferozepure Road Industrial Area had more than 450 industrial units and trading houses catering over 100,000 people directly or indirectly, but because of lack of main facilities, industrialists were facing problems.
