Four policemen were gunned down when unidentified assailants opened fire on them in Korangi, here on Wednesday. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station when unknown gunmen sprayed bullets at police men, who were having lunch at a hotel. The four including an ASI and three constables were critically injured in the attack and rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment; however all of them succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased were identified as ASI Aqeel and constables Jameel, Anwar and Akhtar. The assailants managed to flee from the scene after committing the crime. The police after registering a case against the attackers have started the investigation.
