All rivers in Punjab are flowing normally and the flood-affected people have started returning to their homes from the relief camps. PDMA Director General Jawad Akram said on Sunday that a vigilant eye was being kept on the flow of water in nullahs and rivers throughout the province. The flow of water at Ganda Singhwala in Kasur district is 61,824 cusecs (19.40 feet) and Head Sulemanki 41,798 cusecs.
Hydrological Situation:
River Indus at Guddu and Kotri is in high flood; River Indus at Sukkur is in medium flood; River Indus at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma, Taunsa, and River Kabul at Nowshera, river Jhelum at Mangla and river Chenab at Marala are in low flood.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has predicted scattered thunder showers at isolated places over the upper catchments of rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej and Beas. While isolated thundershowers are expected over Northeast Balochistan and upper catchments of River Indus.
Synoptic Situation:
Seasonal low lies over west Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending north-eastwards. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating into north-eastern parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is also prevailing over upper parts of the country and is likely to move north-eastwards in next 12 to 18 hours.
Weather Forecast:
Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However rain thundershower is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, D G Khan, Sibbi divisions, Islamabad, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
