Even though Microsoft brought out Windows 10 in July, it is still worthwhile to buy computers that come out of the box with either of the two predecessor Windows operating systems. The German telecommunications portal teltarif.de says almost all Windows computers currently on sale have the capability to run Windows 10 and the upgrade is comparatively easy for anyone to do.
"Owners of a valid Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 licence can upgrade for free to Windows 10 within the first year," said Daniel Rottinger of teltarif.de.
Tablet users with Windows 8 can also upgrade to Windows 10, but may have to spend some time researching whether their hardware is suitable. Rottinger said a tablet requires a processor with at least 2 gigabytes of memory to run Windows 10.
