The LSE-25 lost 26.09 points to 6279.26 against 6305.35 of last Thursday as equities declined amid an ascending transaction volume on account of selling pressure. The trading turnover increased to 6.448 million shares compared with the previous volume of 3.221 million shares. The Highnoon Laboratories, Cyan Limited, Ghani Global Glass, Engro Polymer & Chemicals, Descon Chemicals, Askari Bank, NIB Bank, K-Electric, Lotte Chemical and Dewan Cement resisted pressure and ended in green zone.
Because of profit-taking, the PPL, Pakistan Oil Fields, Shell Pakistan, Sui Northern, Salman Noman Enterprises, Samin Textile Mills, Engro Fertilizer, Bank Alfalah, Gharibwal Cement and Fauji Cement remained under selling pressure and ended in negative zone. Of 97 firms, 12 recorded gains; 21 suffered losses while 64 remained stagnant at their last week closing. The Highnoon Laboratories gained Rs 10.00 while Cyan Limited and Ghani Global Glass were up by Rs 3.62 and Rs 1.11, respectively. The PPL lost Rs 5.00; the Pakistan Oil Fields shed Rs 2.04 while Shell Pakistan and Sui Northern were down by Rs 1.52 and Rs 1.09, respectively. The Silk Bank was the market leader whose 4.305 million shares changed hands followed by K-Electric with 1.056 million shares.
