The Pakistan Ex-servicemen Association (PESA) on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to former chief of Inter Services Intelligence Lieutenant General (Retd) Hameed Gul. The tributes were paid during a meeting arranged to condole the death of Lieutenant General Hameed Gul which was presided by President of PESA Lieutenant General (Retd) Ali Kuli Khan.
All members of PESA expressed grief and shock at the sudden demise of late Lieutenant General (Retd) Gul who was one of the founders of PESA. The deceased very actively participated in activities of the association in support of law and the Constitution. The meeting observed that Hameed Gul was a true soldier and a brilliant military commander throughout his service who served with pride and dedication.
Even after his retirement he continued to serve Pakistan with unending energy and dedication and continued fighting for defence of the country under the oath he took at passing-out ceremony. With his passing away, a chapter of a fiercely proud Pakistani is closed. He rattled many a people during his lifetime but was a Pakistani first and a Pakistani last.
The veterans paid rich tribute to the late general for his services to the nation and promotion of welfare of the ex-servicemen. His services would always be remembered by Pakistanis including ex-servicemen. PESA joins the family of Lieutenant General Hameed Gul (Retd) at this hour of grief. At the end prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
