Model Collectorate of Customs (MCC), Gwadar on Thursday claimed to have arrested two persons and seized substantial quantity of liquor worth Rs. 2.7 million in a joint action with Maritime Security Agency (MSA).
According to official sources, the action was taken on credible information, which revealed that some unscrupulous elements were going to make an attempt to offload smuggled liquor at Daam area, Gwadar.
Reacting on this information the staff of MCC Gwadar with active collaboration of MSA intercepted a launch. After detailed examination, substantial quantity of liquor worth Rs 2.7 million was recovered.
They said that two persons namely Shamby s/o Mehmood and Wali Khan s/o Muhammad Baksh were also taken into custody. Consequent upon recovery, the legal proceedings against the arrested men have been initiated. Further investigation is in progress.
