The former president said it is better for the country that resignations of MQM parliamentarians are not accepted. He hoped that Maulana Fazlur Rehman would succeed in his role for mediation. He said politics should not suffer and he has asked opposition leader Khurshid Shah to play a role.
He said a 'new Pakistan' is on the world map and it is "only and only due to PPP." Without naming, Zardari said some people "who do not know the ABC of politics" were acting like Madonna and political actors on TV channels. He said PPP has an important role in bringing peace in Karachi and Sindh. Zardari said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made Pakistan a nuclear power while the subsequent PPP governments gave missile programme to the country. He said they always worked for the country by setting aside differences and even suffered. He said it was because of the reconciliation policy of the PPP that their government completed five years.
