PPP Senator Saeed Ghani said that the corruption was global phenomenon and it also existed every where alike the Sindh province and other provinces but at small scale and not large scale as its perception was being developed. He said this while addressing press conference held at Old Nizam Secretariat Hyderabad on Saturday. He was flanked by former Sindh Minister Zahid Bhurgari, Political Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh Abdul Jabbar and other PPP leaders.
"We have supported the action against any one who was found allegedly to be involved in corruption and would continue it further", he said while rejecting perception of large scale corruption in the Sindh province. PPP always believed in freedom of expression and political activities in the province and it is right of any political party to stage protest in the province, he said.
National Parties including SUP and QAT are staging protests and rallies against alleged corruption in the Sindh province and it is part of campaign for coming local bodies' elections, Ghani said. "Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would lead the campaign during local bodies' elections but he would visit selected areas due to security and other problems", he said. During the local bodies' elections, the local leadership can form alliance with local parities for winning seats, he said.
Senator said that the big parties had to face various issues within their parties such as grouping and differences over the petty issues among the workers and no party wanted to prevail such things because sometime it might cause loss to parties especially during elections.
Replying to question, Saeed Ghani said that one side, leadership of MQM was claiming to be son of Sindh and other side; they demanded to divide for forming new province. It is their right under constitution to demand for new province but they should demand within limit of constitution and they should not deliver speech of hate which could promote the ethnicity in the province, he said adding it is also our right under constitution to oppose to the demand of new province in the province.
