Sacrificial animals have started arriving in the provincial capital and are being paraded here and there to attract the customers although Eid-ul-Azha is around a month away. Only a limited number of animals, mainly cow, goats and sheep, have arrived in the city so far. The traders are demanding high prices for the animals because they have a lot of time to wait for the customers ready to pay their desired prices.
Prices are likely to come down in case a large number of animals arrive in the city before Eid. Maximum numbers of animals are expected to be sold on day and night before Eid-ul-Azha as usual. However, traders expressed the hope that sales will gain momentum in coming weeks as city dwellers, who have difficulties in keeping the animals in their yards, will start visiting the markets.
There are several hordes also in the city inviting people to visit their website for online purchase of sacrificial animals. They also offered to deliver the selected sacrificial animals on their doorstep. Although, the animals available online were far expensive than those in open market, but according to the customers it was worth spending extra money, as it saves them from a long exercise required in visiting market and dealing with the traders. Most of the times, the online purchase deal of animal is done with credit cards and the animal are delivered at the doorstep of the customer.
