How unfortunate it is that India has once again escaped from the route to the table of dialogue on highly flimsy grounds after Islamabad turned down an Indian advice for declining a meeting of Hurriyat leaders, local media reported on Friday.
Addressing a pres conference, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarap offered an implausible explanation of the issue by saying that India has always maintained there are only two stakeholders in our relationship not three. It is nothing but a rejection of a stark reality by India. The Kashmiri leaders, particularly Syed Ali Geelani, have rightly reacted to New Delhi's move. According to him, India is not serious to resolve Kashmir conflict. He has asked Pakistan to remain firm on its stance. No doubt, his is a saner advice to Islamabad.
It is highly encouraging to note that Pakistan has strongly rejected Indian government's 'advice' to call off Sartaj Aziz's scheduled meeting with Hurriyat leaders. India must not lose sight of the fact that Kashmir is a disputed territory.
