A Task Force for Faisalabad Division has been constituted to monitor and oversee anti adulteration campaign on sustainable basis for the provision of safe and quality food to the citizens. According to the notification issued by the Secretary Food Punjab, MPA Haji Khalid Saeed has been nominated as Chairman, while Divisional Commissioner would act as Secretary of Divisional Task Force.
Others members included MPAs Rao Kashif Rahim Khan, Mian Muhammad Rafique, Khurram Abbas Sial, Imtiaz Ahmad Lali, RPO, DCOs, SSP (Special Branch), Director Health Services, Deputy Director Food, EDO (Agriculture) and Food Technologist which would be notified by Secretary of Task Force with the consultation of Chairman.
The first meeting of Divisional Task Force for Anti adulteration in food was held here at Commissioner Office conference room with Chairman/MPA Haji Khalid Saeed in the chair. In his introductory remarks, the Chairman said that the Punjab govt had taken very serious to curb the adulteration menace in the society and the Task Force at Divisional level has been constituted under the directions of CM Punjab to monitor and make the anti adulteration a success. He said that adulteration mafia would be dealt with iron hand and full legal power would be utilised for the eradication of adulteration in edibles.
He emphasised upon the concerned departments to perform their duties with full dedication for achieving the desired results of anti adulteration campaign. He assured all out co-operation from the parliamentarians and said that enemies of human health should not be spared for wiping out the society from adulteration mafia. Divisional Commissioner / Secretary Divisional Task Force Capt. R. Nasim Nawaz stressed upon the effective steps to make the adulteration campaign a success and said that concerned rules and legal procedure should be followed while taken action against the adulteration mafia. He urged upon focusing on checking of quality of all types of food items especially milk and milk products, cooking oil/ghee, water, food products, beverages, ice factories, soda water, spices and ensuring safe and hygienic food by processing units, hotels, eateries and restaurants.
MPAs Rao Kashif Rahim, Mian Muhammad Rafique and Khurram Abbas Sial said that elimination of adulteration in food is not only legal responsibility but also it is a great social service to save the health of human beings. They stressed upon the effective pursuance of the adulteration cases before the courts so that the accused could be taken to task. The police officers assured their full co-operation during crack down against the adulteration mafia.
DCOs of the four districts gave briefing about the steps taken for anti adulteration drive and said that the food processing units, hotels and other food factories had been warned to mend their ways otherwise, if poor quality, sub standards manufacturing of food items are found in any where, the defaulters would be brought behind the bar.
