Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Dr Ghulam Rasul has issued following Monsoon outlook for September 2015:
Scattered Monsoon rains with gradual decreasing tendency are likely to continue in the country. (with 2-3 spells over northern half, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir) during first and second week of the month.
Monsoon is expected to withdraw from Pakistan during third week, , however westerly waves will continue to pass across north of the country. Under influence of these westerly waves, two spells of isolated rans may occur over upper parts of the country (KPK, upper Punjab , Gilgit, Baltistan and Kashmir) during second half of the month. Due to dominating spread of air mass associated with the westerly waves during the month temperatures are likely to remain 2-3 °C in KPK, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Mostly dry weather conditions are likely to prevail in southern half (Sindh and Balochistan) of the country.

Rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi,Gujranwala, Sargodha divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir, while at isolated places in Bannu, D.I.Khan, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country; however rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds may occur at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
