Palm and coconut oil prices on the European vegetable oil market were generally lower on Monday, in a market which was quiet due to Malaysian trading being closed for the National Day holiday. Many products were unquoted in Europe for most of the day.
By 1600 GMT, crude palm oil was offered between $7.50 and $20 a tonne down from Friday, while palm olein was between $15 and $17 lower. Liquid oils were mixed. EU rapeoil was quoted five to six euros per tonne lower, on the back of a dip in CBOT soyaoil futures and due to a weaker dollar, which weighs on euro-priced products.
