Punjab Assembly continued discussion on Annual Report of the Punjab Public Service Commission for the year 2012-13 and Annual Report of the Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVTA) for the year 2011-12. Opposition tagged walkout from the house during the session when they were not allowed to table resolution demanding release of development funds to opposition lawmakers.
Members of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) jointly staged walk out while members of PML-Q did not join them. The Speaker said that development work in the province was the responsibility of the district governments and it was they who needed funds for completion of the projects. Taking part in the discussion on working of Public Service Commission averred that PCS should operate in zones in the province.
They stated that the province needed to be bifurcated into three zones for PSC working, 40 percent quota should be given to South Punjab. Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani in the absence of Secretary Health did not allow Parliamentary Secretary Health to give answers regarding the department. He stated that in presence of his ruling, he could not do so. The session was later adjourned till Monday.
