The district administration has notified 10 sites for establishing temporary cattle market/sale points in the district for the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals which would be made functional from 8th September. According to the notification issued in this regard the temporary cattle markets would be set up at Danola Millat road, Mela Mandi ground Chak No 235/RB Neamuana Samundri road, Bypass Chak No 58 JB Narwala road, Bypass Chak No 239/RB Satyana road, Islampura near Railway Station Jaranwala, site near Sem Nala Jaranwala road Khurrianwala, site adjacent to New Green Market Faisalabad road Samundri, Hockey ground Canal road Tandilianwala, Bangla chowk Mamukanjan and Railway Godown near Railway Station Chak Jhumra.
The necessary facilities would be provided by the concerned TMA to ease the sellers and purchasers of sacrificial animals. DCO Noorul Amin Mengal has cleared that no fees of any kind would be charged for the entry or sale of the sacrificial animals and the role of middlemen would be discouraged to avoid exploitation. He said that the concerned ACs had been assigned duties to monitor and supervise the arrangement in temporary cattle markets of sacrificial animals.
Meanwhile, DCO Noorul Amin Mengal directed the Livestock department officials to establish Veterinary Dispensaries at cattle markets and the cattle owners should be informed about the precautionary measures to save the sacrificial animals from the ticks, Congo virus and other epidemics diseases. He also directed the Health department to set up improvised medical camp and the sites of temporary cattle markets besides residual spray and fogging. He said that necessary security and traffic arrangements should also be made for smooth functioning of the cattle markets.
