President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday summoned the Senate session on September 14. The session has been summoned following the Presidential approval of the Prime Minister's advice on a summary initiated by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, said a President House press release. The Upper House of the Parliament would meet on Monday, at 1500 hours in the Parliament Building.
On another summary, the President accorded his assent to the Safeguard Measures (Amendment) Bill, 2015 that was passed by the Senate on August 4, and by the National Assembly on August 12 Approving the Prime Minister's advice, the President nominated Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa and Justice Masud Abid Naqvi, both the judges of Lahore High Court for Appellate Tribunal. The tribunal would dispose of appeals against the decisions of Returning Officer rejecting or accepting nomination papers for by-election to the National Assembly Constituency NA-122 Lahore-V.
President Mamnoon also approved nomination of Lahore High Court judges including Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and Justice Arshad Mahmood Tabassum as Appellate Tribunal to dispose of appeals against Returning Officer's decisions regarding by-election to the NA-154 Lodhran-I. On another summary, the President also approved PM's advice to extend and apply Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife and Biodiversity (Protection, Preservation, Conservation and Management) Act, 2015 to Provincially Administered Tribal Areas.
The President approved PM's advice for repatriation of Muhammad Sajid Ali, Judge, Accountability Court-II, Lahore to Lahore High Court and appointed Tahir Nawaz Khan, District and Sessions Judge as a Judge, Accountability Court-II, Lahore on deputation basis. The President also granted 20-day ex-Pakistan leaves to Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court who wanted to perform Hajj.
