The federal government has released Rs 131.45 billion under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various development projects against a budgeted allocation of Rs 700bn for 2015-16. However, the funds allocated under the PSDP for ministries of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony, Textile Industry, Federal Tax Ombudsman, Information Technology and Telecom and Ports and Shipping have not yet been released.
According to the data, released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, Rs 6.7bn has been released for Railways Division out of its total Rs 41bn earmarked under the PSDP for 2015-16. The government released Rs 3bn for various projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 30.4bn, earmarked under PSDP for 2015-16.
A sum of Rs 207.6 million of a total Rs 13.68bn budgeted for the year has been released for Planning, Development and Reforms Division. According to the data, the government released Rs 1.57bn for Interior Division for which Rs 8.3bn was earmarked in the budget of current year. The government also released Rs 205m for Science and Technology, Research Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 1.1bn.
The government released Rs 5.7m for Aviation Division out of Rs 3.9bn budgeted for this year. A total of Rs 379.7m has been released for Cabinet Division, Rs 117m for Capital Administration and Development Authority, Rs 75m for Communication Division (other than NHA), Rs 59.4m for Defence Division and Rs 180m for Establishment Division. The Planning Commission has released Rs 525.65m for Finance Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 9b, while Rs 466m has been released for Federal Education and Professional Training Division.
Federal government has also released Rs 20bn for Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA-Power sector) out of its Rs 112.8b budgeted amount, while Rs 40m has been released for WAPDA (Water-sector) out of Rs 30bn. The Commission released Rs 1.72m for Climate Change Division, out of its total allocation of Rs 39.75m, while Rs 57.62m has been released for Revenue Division out of total budgeted allocation of Rs 335m. The government has released Rs 11.6bn for National Highway Authority against the total allocation of Rs 159.6bn for current fiscal year. The Planning Commission released Rs 4bn for Higher Education Commission against the total allocation of Rs 20.5bn.
The government has also released Rs 800m for Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra), out of its total annual allocation of Rs 7bn; and a sum of Rs 2.2bn has been released for AJK development projects, out of its annual allocation of Rs 13.3bn. The government has not yet released funds for the development projects of Gilgit-Baltistan, while Rs 9.94bn has been budgeted for the current year.
