Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that law and order situation in Balochistan has improved a lot during the last two years, as people were freely moving in each and every district of the province without any fear.
He was addressing workers' convention of National Party (NP) at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, on Sunday. He said that bazaars in Quetta now remained open till late night due to improved security situation. He said that for the first time recruitments in police, education and other departments were made through National Testing Service (NTS) in the province.
The convention was also attended by NP Chief Hasil Bizenjo, provincial leaders and activists.
"We are proud to say that now departments and institution in Balochistan are fully free from political interference," Baloch said.
He said that two year ago, some 72 criminal groups were active in the province, while two to three suicide attacks were occurring every week. "Now the security situation is much better as the criminal gangs have been eliminated," he added.
"We didn't take support from any gang or criminal group to do politics or run the government in Balochistan," he added.
The Chief Minister said that NP had always been against feudalism, divided and rule policy and authoritarian system.
NP Chief Hasil Bizenjo said that Balochistan use of force was not a solution to every problem, rather issue should be resolved through dialogue. He called for a peaceful solution of Balochistan issue. He stressed on enhanced provincial autonomy to strengthen the federation of Pakistan through solving the problem of masses at their door step.
NP General Secretary Dr Yasin Baloch also addressed the convention. Earlier, the provincial cabinet of NP was also announced during the convention. Mukhtar Bacha was elected as provincial president, Zabardast Khan and Malik Niaz as vice presidents, Idress Khattak general secretary, Qaiser Khan Deputy General Secretary, Taimoor Kamal as information secretary, and Shaheen Qamar as head women wing.
