Bilawal Bhutto is all set to launch anti-government campaign after Eid, as he would not deviate from his promise to return Punjab early to lead the party from the front, said the party sources. The party insiders admitted that the party workers were bit confused over early return of Bilawal to Punjab, as he could not fulfil his pledge earlier. Both Asif Zardari and Bilawal could not meet their promises of staying long in Punjab in the past.
One senior party leader Naveed Chaudhry said that anti-PPP forces are actively engaged in spreading rumours about the party leadership. "There was a strong rumour that Faryal Talpur has arrived Lahore last Friday to take Bilawal along with her to Dubai," he said. Chaudhry said these rumours were circulating in political circles despite the fact that Bilawal was due to address party workers on the very next day.
Shahida Jabeen, another senior party worker agreed with the impression that the party workers were not happy with the provincial leadership, saying that the old party workers are expecting that Chairman Bilawal would get rid of those proving burden on the party. She added that the time has come that Bilawal should break the barriers between him and true party workers. Meanwhile, there were rumours within the party circles that Bilawal might replace the faces playing role at the helm of affairs in Punjab. However, no one from among the party sources was ready to agree with such reports.
Majority of the party workers who attended workers' convention at the Bilawal House were happy with his tone and tenor, saying that only an aggressive stance of party leadership against the PML-N leadership would attract the party voters and supporters across the Punjab. However, these party circles are yet not convinced that the party would be able to perform in the upcoming LB elections. However, they added that much more depends on the frequency of Bilawal's visits to the Punjab.
