A group of animal feed makers in the Philippines has purchased about 110,000 tonnes of Australian-origin feed wheat and about 90,000 tonnes of soyameal to be sourced from the United States, European traders said on Friday. The wheat and soyameal had both been sought for a range of shipment dates in the first quarter of 2016, they said. Some 55,000 tonnes of Australian feed wheat was purchased at $210.90 a tonne c&f for shipment between January 20 and February 9, the traders said.
A further 55,000 tonnes was purchased at $213.75 a tonne c&f for shipment between February 20 to Mar 11, they added. Black Sea wheat offers had been particularly low in the tender, traders said. The first consignment of 45,000 tonnes of US soyameal was purchased at a premium of $54 c&f over the Chicago January 2016 soyameal contract, they said. The soyameal was for shipment either between January 1-21 from the US Gulf or between January 16 and February 5 from the US Pacific North West coast, they said.
