Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan on Wednesday said that the government was giving attractive incentive packages to industrialists and billions of rupees were being spent on infrastructure development schemes. He said this while inaugurating a new production unit at the Murree Glass Industries established by the Murree Baroori Group at the Hattar Industrial Unit, Haripur.
The governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, record investments had been made in the country and new industrial units were being established. He further said that during the last decade, the country was in the grip of severe terrorism, resultantly chaos and lawlessness had prevailed everywhere, making the lives of the people miserable.
In the whole country, the infrastructure was on the verge of collapse and the industries were severely being suffered, he added. The governor said that Pakistan Army and security forces had successfully foiled terrorists' evil designs and restored peace in the country particularly in tribal areas.
He said that the damaged infrastructures were being reconstructed and closed industrial units reopened. He said the completion of the Pak-China Economic Corridor would give much impetuous to the socio-economic activities in the country. The governor commended the investment made by Murree Baroori Group in the Hattar Industrial Estate and expressed the hope that the industrial units so far established in Hattar would prove better for the socio-economic development of the area.
Chief Executive of the Murree Baroori Group, Asfanyar Bhandara, who is also Member of National Assembly, also spoke on the occasion and said that during the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, socio-economic activities were gaining momentum despite opposition from different political quarters and hurdles created in the flow of foreign investment.
