The Punjab Food Authority has sealed and fined several eateries in the provincial metropolis for flouting the hygiene and food standards or carrying business without license. Operations Director Ayesha Mumtaz led a team on Thursday which sealed Qasmi Nehari, located on the Temple Road, for failing to have a food business license, open drains and absence of washing area.
PFA team also sealed Naseem Butt Sari Paiay, Hassan Husseini Food Store and Sain Sweets on different charges including working without license, dirty washing areas, absence of hand washing facilities, open drains. The same team heavily fined the Zahid tea stall and the CNN naan shop on the charges of unhygienic conditions, not covering the food items, dirty freezers and poor personal hygiene of workers.
The Samanabad team sealed Rana Hotel because of doing business without license, while New Butt Sweets of Gulshan-e-Ravi was imposed heavy fines on same charges. Gulberg Town team closed a famous eatery Nadeem Buffet, located in the Faisal Town area, because of bad cleanliness and other charges. While The Hotel Crown Plaza situated on Canal Bank road was also sealed because of presence of rats in chillers and using expired food items. Godown of Gloria Jean's situated in Model Town also sealed because of having expired items and carrying out business without food license.
Aziz Bhatti Town team sealed the Fine Pizza, located on Zarar Shaheed Road, and Khan Chicken Channay for not having a license, not covering the eatables, flies and poor personal hygiene of workers. The Ravi Town team sealed the Paracha Tea Facotry and the Saif Ullah Tea Godown for not having brand registration. Allama Iqbal Town team sealed Soff Ice near EME society, because of no medical certificates of food handlers, poor personal hygiene, dirty kitchen and flavours without expiry being used. Shalimar Town team sealed the Sada Bahar Milk Shop because of carrying business without license while Ghausia Catering was imposed fine because of bad cleanliness situation.
