The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab has demanded that the government place Rangers in the NA-122 constituency till the by-election on October 11 and toe a better democratic line. In a series of speeches in public gatherings in public meetings in Mozang, Samanabad and Garhi Shahu, party organiser Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar claimed.
"The governing party should know that the Insaf will never bow to any pressure or hooliganism. Our political opponents should be ready to face a humiliating defeat in the elections. People will poll their votes for the Insaf on October 11 as they want to oust the incumbent government."
About the police, he accused them of was siding with the governing party, claiming that the latter was busy running their campaign and targeting Insaf workers and supporters. "Therefore, it is highly imperative that the government deploy the Rangers to ensure security in both the by-election constituencies-NA-122 and PP-147. Otherwise, the government and the Election Commission of Pakistan will be responsible for any untoward incident." Deputy organiser Umer Sarfraz Cheema and Member of the Punjab Assembly Mian Aslam Iqbal claimed the governing party could see its political death in the upcoming by-election and the Local Bodies' elections.
