"Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Peoples' Party are poles apart in their outlook towards the ongoing Rangers Karachi operation and implementation on National Action Plan. There is no meeting ground between the two dominant parties of the Sindh province." MQM senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar said this while talking to newsmen after hearing of the MQM review petition against the Lahore High Court's decision regarding imposition of a ban on the airing of Altaf Hussain's speeches and pictures.
Commenting on a statement of PTI Chairman Imran Khan that MQM and PPP are putting pressure on the Federal government to stop the Rangers' operation in Karachi to rid the mega city of violence, corruption and insecurity, Dr Farooq Sattar said Imran Khan had failed to see the difference between MQM and PPP's politics and objectives. "MQM wants a transparent and across the board operation in Karachi in accordance with law whereas the Peoples' Party leaders are raising a great hue and cry to protect their plundered wealth looted money and prevailing corruption in provincial government departments, he added.
The MQM parliamentary leader claimed that there was not a single allegation against any MQM Law Maker therefore it supports NAB and other agencies in their efforts for bringing the looted public wealth back to the national exchequer. He warned that without implementation on all parts and components of National Action Plan, extremism and terrorism could not be eliminated from the society.
