Free angioplasty begins at Bahawalpur hospital
BAHAWALPUR: One of largest civil hospitals of the region, Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) has started provision of facility of free of cost angioplasty to needy and poor patients who could not afford expenditures of angioplasty.
The hospital sources said here that earlier, patients of Bahawalpur region had to visit to hospitals in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad to undergo medical operation of mitral valve. The modern cardiology complex established at BVH was equipped to conduct medical operations of patients who need angioplasty.
“Now with the support of the Punjab government, angioplasty of poor patients is also being conducted who could not afford huge expenditures of the medical operation,” they said, adding that the provincial government had been providing with funds in this regard.
They added that daily five patients had been getting facility of free of cost angioplasty operation at BVH. They concluded that now the local patients had not move to other cities in this connection.
