Sindh Police has evolved a security plan for Eidul Azha, under which over 15,500 police personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order in the city. The security plan was chalked out during a meeting on Sunday, which was presided over by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Hyder Jamali.
The meeting was told that Eid congregations would be held at some 31,00 Masajid, over 220 Imambarghas, and 450 other places. It was further told that the concerned SPs, DSPs and SHOs had been directed to ensure foolproof security and swift patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.
In addition to 15,500 police personnel, 200 reserve platoons, more than 450 police mobiles and 170 motorbikes will be patrolling in the sensitive locations.
An additional force of RRF, crime branch, and SRP has also been provided for the security of sensitive installations, buildings, and important areas. Similarly, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and special branch have been assigned important tasks under the security plan.
With a view to implementing the security plan effectively, the IGP instructed his subordinate officers to make sure intelligence sharing with other security agencies.
