Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), Engineer Mohammad Naeem Khan said on Monday that more than 200 vehicles and 3,000 sanitary workers will participate in the special cleanliness campaign during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays to ensure timely disposal of remaining of sacrificial animals.
He said this while chairing a meeting of the concerned staff. General Manager (Operations) Nasir Ghafoor Khan, Zonal Managers Ashraf Qadir, Arif Rauf, Aliur Rehman Khan, Amin Gul, Chief Municipal Inspectors and other officials attended the meeting. The special cleanliness campaign would start from the first day of Eid and will continue till Sunday evening, he said.
Elaborating the special cleanliness campaign, the General Manager (Operations) Nasir Ghafoor Khan said that special fumigation campaign would be carried out in the entire city along with fumigation at the dumping site. He said that all the zonal managers will personally monitor the campaign in their respective zones. Nasir Ghafoor Khan briefed the participants that field staff have been assigned special duties along with hiring of additional vehicles and provision of wheel barrows. "Special awareness raising banners and leaflets have been prepared and distributed among the residents to widely circulate the complaint numbers to ease the residents, Nasir Ghafoor Khan said. On the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer asked the officials to maintain cleanliness at any cost and collect and dispose sacrificial animals waste immediately.
