National Book Foundation (NBF) has been playing a vital role in dissemination of knowledge and promotion of book culture among people in the country for many years successfully. The Managing Director, NBF expressed these views at the auspicious occasion of opening ceremony for Readers Club Scheme held here in Head Office Islamabad. He said the Foundation is working in line of promotion of book culture and inculcation of book reading habit by launching book melas and readers club scheme.
He welcomed the guests who attended this event and highlighted the NBF achievements in the last years. He briefed the audience that Foundation has been printing state of the art, high quality, with best layout, design and at affordable prices. He further said that the National Book Foundation has a comprehensive plan to start Readers Club Scheme and launched it in Islamabad as well as at other stations situated in Pakistan far and wide from 21-09-2015.
The Chief Guest of this inaugural ceremony, the prominent personality of Islamabad and well known senior lawyer, Muhammad Ashraf Gujjar expressed his views that book has prime important in our society and mostly our population has been taking keen interest in book reading. "Our youth is taking benefits from Information and Communications Technology (ICT) by using computer and internet facilities but we should adopt the habit of book reading regularly," he said. Malik Fida-Ur-Rehman, Co-ordinator of Balochistan NBF Book Mela, Qaisara Alvi, NBF Book Ambassador and Muhammad Aslam Rio and Ex-Secretary of NBF were also the core speakers.-PR
