A short rainy spell on Monday showered a few parts in the city's outskirts, but the city continued to face soaring temperature as high as 40 degrees Celsius during the day. On Saturday and Sunday, the city's temperature was 43 degrees. Karachi's temperature is likely to reduce to 38 degrees on Tuesday.
A brief rainy spell hit Superhighway, Sohrab Goth and few other parts in north-east of the metropolis where temperature lost its hotness a little. Gusty winds also struck the cattle market that has been set up for selling sacrificial animals in Sohrab Goth. Temperature in Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu and Thatta was 39 degrees, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmore and Qambar Shadadkot 38 degrees and Badin, Khairpur and Mityari was 37 degrees.
On Tuesday, weather is expected to remain hot in Shaheed Benazirabad with 39 degrees followed by Thatta, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Sukkur, Kashmore and Qambar Shadadkot, Ghotki and Khairpur 38 degrees. The Met office forecast a hot and dry weather for entire province in the next 24 hours. However, it said that rain with thundershower was also likely to hit scattered places in Mirpurkhas division, at a few parts of Hyderabad and Sukkur divisions, besides falling in isolated areas in Thatta and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions.
