Acting KP Governor Asad Qaisar has said on Wednesday that mega development projects were needed to be initiated in the tribal belt of KP to enable people of the area bring in national mainstream. He stated this while talking to a delegation of Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) led by its Chairperson Ronaq Lakhani which called on him at Governor House. Other delegates were senior journalist Amjad Aziz Malik, Sara Ali, Arshad Javed and Danyal Alwi.
The acting governor said making the tribal belt as part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be finalised in consultation with the tribesmen. He said in the war against terrorism the tribal people had done exemplary sacrifices side by side with the security forces and it was a dire need of the time that they would be supported in their struggle for survival.
He appreciated efforts of the Special Olympics Pakistan in finding out mentally disabled players in the tribal areas and including them in the national and international teams.
He said by this step the mentally disabled players of Fata would be encouraged to a great extent and they would prove a precious asset for the country in the future. He also commended efforts of the SOP Chairperson Ronaq Lakhani and assured his full support to the SOP in the promotion of sports especially in Fata.
Ronaq Lakhani briefed the acting governor on the Loss Angles Special Olympics World Games and told him about the successes achieved by Pakistani players in the Olympics including four players belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. SOP chairperson also told to the acting governor that the SOP would also arrange games'competitions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata and in this connection training camps would be arranged for the players.
