Arrests of 356 persons were made across the Sindh province on charges of hides snatching and seized 18,037 hides of sacrificial animals during its endeavour to ensure strict enforcement of code of ethics announced by the Sindh government for hides' collection on Eid-ul-Azha. According to the spokesman for Sindh Rangers on Sunday, the Rangers took measures to ensure compliance of code of ethics for hides' collection in Sindh province.
Out of 356 arrested accused, 288 were handed over to the Sindh Police, 32 were set free while investigation is underway of 36 accused of committing crimes of serious nature, he said.
The Rangers spokesman said the hides were confiscated from those organisations, which violated the code of ethics for hides' collection.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Jamat-i-Islami, Ahle Sunnat-Wal-Jammat, Jammat-ud-Dawa, Dawat-e-Islami, Sunni Tehreek and Memon Community were among such parties which violated the code of ethics, he added.
He said that a detailed report in this regard would be submitted soon to the Federal and provincial governments.
The Sindh Rangers has also expressed gratitude to those persons who conveyed the violation of code of ethics for hides' collection to Rangers Helpline 1101 and reposed their confidence on the force, the Spokesman concluded.
