Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) arrested three accused of smuggling and seized illegal fine quality liquor and beer cans in a raid on a suspicious boat intercepted at high sea near Makran Coast. The cost of the contraband items in the international market was stated to be around Rs 20 million.
The PSM, according to a statement issued Sunday, conducted the operation on credible information that sea routes will be used for smuggling a large quantity of contraband items.
A search was initiated and during raid on a boat recovered the illegal goods.
The seized liquor and crew have been handed over to Pakistan Customs for further legal proceedings, the statement said.
