Development projects: Transparency, speedy completion hallmark of PML-N government: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that transparency, standard and speedy completion of development projects is the hallmark of Pakistan Muslim League-N government and third-party audit system has been introduced for this purpose. Shahbaz Sharif said that Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Road Programme has been started for the repair and construction of all roads of rural areas and a huge sum of Rs 150 billion will be spent on this project during two and a half years. He was talking to a delegation of representatives of PML-N who met him here on Monday.
He said that funds are a trust of the nation and every penny of public money is being spent honestly on the welfare of the masses. He said that government is serving the people honestly and selflessly and this process will continue in future as well. The Chief Minister said that sit-ins and protest politics last year caused a huge loss to national economy and in the process of progress and development was hindered. He said that the elements which wasted the precious time of the nation did not care about national interests or welfare of the common man. However, he said, PML-N government has restarted the process of national development with a new determination. Referring to the projects of development of Punjab and provision of basic amenities to the people, Shahbaz Sharif said that a culture of merit, transparency and speedy execution of development projects has been promoted in the province. He said that billions of rupees are being spent on the welfare of the people and projects aimed at provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the masses.
He said that supply of potable water will be ensured in all tehsils of Punjab by 2017 under Saaf Pani Project and this programme has been started from South Punjab. He said that a sum of 70 billion rupees will be spent on Saaf Pani Project during next two and a half years. The Chief Minister said that the aim of progress and prosperity of the country will be achieved through adopting the principle of honesty and hard work while every effort will be made for providing relief to the citizens.
