Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Sunday had a meeting with President of Senegal Macky Sall to discuss ways how to build on ties between their countries in diverse fields. The meeting was held here on the fringes of the 70th United Nations General Assembly.
The Prime Minister spelt out his vision for developing a robust relationship based on mutual interests and sustained development with the African nations. He said there was a wide scope of co-operation between the two sides and there was a need to identify the areas where they can move ahead. The Prime Minister offered sale of defence equipment to Senegal, including the joint Sino-Pak built JF 17 Thunder aircraft. The President of Senegal praised Pakistan's progress in various areas and its role in the Muslim Ummah. He said that Pakistan's progress in the fields of science and technology was a role model for the African countries.
