The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudry Abdul Majeed Monday expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for raising Kashmir issue in the United Nations (UN) for its early solution besides taking keen interest in speedy development of AJK.
The ongoing visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the United States to attend the United Nations Session would bear fruit in attracting the attention of the international community including the UN towards the importance of early solution of Kashmir issue, the AJK Prime Minister said this while talking to various public representatives' delegations at the Prime Minister house here.
AJK Advisor to the Prime Minister Shoukat Raja, Mirpur DC Chaudhry Amjad Iqbal, SSP Raja Irfan Salim, Chief Engineer Public Health AJK Sheikh Shujaat Jalil and other senior officials of the AJK government were also present on this occasion. He said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had boldly raised the Kashimir issue before the UN Secretary General and emphasised the importance of holding much-awaited plebiscite in Jammu & Kashmir under the auspices of the United Nations to enable the people of the territory to decide about their future.
The AJK Prime Minister directed the government officials including the heads of the nation building departments to perform their duties honestly and with missionary zeal. He said that his government was making all out efforts at the diplomatic fronts to resolve Kashmir dispute besides striving hard to provide maximum facilities to the people.
