The Karachi Port handled 92,235 tonnes of cargo comprising 69,716 tonnes of import cargo and 22,519 tonnes of export cargo including 4,771 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 69,716 tonnes comprised of 41,143 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,404 tonnes of bulk cargo: 6,071 tonnes of DAP; 1,823 tonnes of SB meal; 510 tonnes of urea and 20,169 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,519 tonnes comprised of 20,119 tonnes of containerised cargo and 2,400 tonnes of loose bulk cement. As many as 4,771 containers comprising of 2,735 containers import and 2,036 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The break-up of imported containers shows 1,218 of 20's and 546 of 40's loaded while 65 of 20's and 180 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 640 of 20's and 189 of 40's loaded containers while 332 of 20's and 343 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely APL Pearl, KMTC Mumbai, Irenes Wisdom, Kota Kasturi, X-Press Euphrates, MT Lahore and Oriental Sakura carrying containers, oil tanker and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were seven vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, Sima Prestige, Oriental Sakura, Carolina Wind, Hafnia Asia, Chios Trinity and Mohar carrying containers, oil tankers and cement respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Sima Prestige and X-Press Kailash carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while another ship namely Bunga Laurel carrying oil tanker is expected to sail on Wednesday. There were three vessels viz. Oriental Lotus, Hanjin Iwagi and Ocean Innovation carrying oil tankers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while three vessels viz. Ever Result, Bahamas and NOCC Pamplona carrying containers and vehicles respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 86,069 tonnes comprising 83,108 tonnes of import cargo and 2,961 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 522 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 83,108 tonnes includes 57,298 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,215 tonnes of soyabean; 4,699 tonnes of edible oil; 1,795 tonnes of LPG mix; 3,100 tonnes of chemical and 8,001 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 2,961 tonnes includes 2,961 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were two ships namely CV K Pegasus and MV Everich Ill with containers and chemical sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV K Pegasus, CV Ocean Kite, MV Countess, MV Everich Ill, MV White Purl, MT Brizo and MT Horizon currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, urea, soyabean, chemical, LPG mix, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as five ships carrying containers and LPG at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday. There were four vessels carrying containers, urea, chemical and edible oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
There are five ships namely CV Alliance St Louis, CV Al Bahia, CV MSK Detroit, CV MSC Carolina and MV Vest Holmen carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
