On Tuesday, at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), value traded was PKR 7,691 million as compared to PKR 6,937 million reported on Monday, an increase of 11 percent. The number of lots traded also increased by 19 percent to 55.34 million from 46.47 million. PMEX Commodity Index reduced by 0.30 percent and closed at 2,530. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 7,289 million, a 14 percent increase when compared to the previous trading day. This was followed by crude oil (PKR 357 million), silver (PKR 44.06 million) and cotton (PKR 1.27 million).
