The rupee moved slightly against the dollar on the money market on Thursday in the process of trading, dealers said. The rupee almost held the overnight levels against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 104.50 and Rs 104.52 respectively, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee recovered its overnight losses in terms of the dollar, gaining five-paisa for buying and selling at Rs 104.35 and Rs 104.55 respectively, they said. It also picked up 25-paisa against the euro for buying and selling at Rs 115.50 and Rs 116.50 respectively, they added.
In the fourth Asian trade, the dollar firmed slightly on relief a set of China manufacturing surveys were just a smidgen better than some had expected, but gains were limited as caution prevailed ahead of key US jobs data on Friday.
The euro remained under pressure after a downbeat eurozone inflation report, while the yen firmed slightly in early Asian trade after the Bank of Japan's tankan corporate sentiment survey contained both positive and worrying signs.
The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 65.59, the greenback was at 4.4005 versus the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency as available at 6.3571 against the Chinese yuan. Interbank buy/sell rates for the taka against the dollar on Thursday: 77.80-77.80 (previous 77.80-77.80): 05.30-06.50 percent (Previous 05.35-06.50 percent).

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The greenback improved its worth by 10-paisa on buying side at Rs 104.40 while remained unchanged at Rs 104.60 in relation to the local currency at the open currency markets of Lahore on Thursday.
Currency dealers said the dollar resumed trading on a positive note at Rs 104.35 and Rs 104.65 on buying and selling counters, respectively as against Rs 104.30 and Rs 104.60 on Wednesday. At the close, the greenback was traded at Rs 104.40 and Rs 104.60 on buying and selling sides, respectively.
On the other hand, the British Pound was purchased and sold at Rs 157.50 and Rs 158.50 as against previous closing rates of Rs 157.70 and Rs 158.50, the dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs 104 (buying) and Rs 104.25 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 104 (buying) and Rs 104.25 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 161 (buying) and Rs 161.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 161 (buying) and Rs 161.50 (selling).
