Law enforcement agencies, in an operation at Shera Kot, killed four terrorists involved in the suicide attack on Shuja Khanzada on Thursday. This was said by IG Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhaira while addressing a press conference at his office. He said the agencies also recovered suicide jackets and explosive material from the site.
He said the terrorists were identified as Amjad, Fayyaz, Sadaqat and Saddam. The IGP said the Counter Terrorism Department Punjab (CTD) had arrested a terrorist, Muhammad Qasim, involved in several terrorist activities, including assassination of Shuja Khanzada, adding that the law enforcement agencies conducted the operation on the information of Qasim.
Sukhaira said Qari Sohail of KPK was a mastermind of the attack on Shuja Khanzada who sent a suicide attacker and the forces were conducting raids to arrest him. Regarding Moharramul Harram, the IGP said Punjab Police had made foolproof security arrangements and meetings with Ulema and Mashaikh were underway to maintain peace. He said strict action would be taken against those elements who will be involved in sectarianism under the National Action Plan.
